Theatre and AI
a Workshop with Interrobang (Nina Tecklenburg, Manus Nijhoff)
In this workshop, Interrobang explores together with the participants how AI systems can appear in theatre and performance: as co-players, as counterparts, or as apparatuses that record and make decisions alongside us. We work hands-on with AI models, focusing in particular on their limitations, failures, glitches, and blind spots. These experiments give rise to short scenes and playable situations that, among other things, raise the question of who is actually controlling whom.
The workshop concludes with a collection of experimental setups for a critical and playful engagement with AI in theatre.
The workshop is open to participants aged 16 and over and welcomes people from a wide range of disciplines. No prior experience is required — just a willingness to play and experiment.
